NAMI Alaska is a grassroots, 501(c)(3) nonprofit, support, education and advocacy organization of consumers, families, and friends of people with severe brain disorders such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic and anxiety disorders, and attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder.

NAMI provides local information and referral serviced, interacts with local professionals, works with local media on stories about , mental illness, reports on local issues and needs to our sate officials, and provides support and encouragement to people with brain disorders and promotes their full participation as community.
