Alaska Peer Partnerships Conference

The Consortium organizes a bi-annual Conference which features nationally renown speakers from the peer movement, as well as local presenters, who offer workshops about innovative projects and inspiring models of recovery and wellness for all. This conference brings 300 peers, family members, students, teachers, administrators, social workers and therapists together for 2 days of invigorating learning and sharing. The Consortium offers limited registration and travel scholarships.

Training

Each year, the Consortium coordinates highly successful, evidenced based trainings in Peer Support and wellness tools. These are extensively researched and hand picked by the Consortium’s Education Council, and have included WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Planning) classes, WRAP Facilitator training, Peer Employment Training, Advanced Peer Practices, Trauma Informed Peer Support, workshops for youth, Leadership Academy and Focus for Life.  The trainers are a mix of Alaskan Peer Support Specialists and outside experts.  Participants are peers (including youth) who are working or volunteering as a Peer Support Specialist or Peer Navigator, or want to start a support group or advocacy group.
